Filter-Separators are common vessels used in the gas and oil industry to remove solids and entrained liquids from a gas stream.  These units are required in applications needing higher levels of natural gas purity.  Typical designs consist of a separation compartment (for bulk liquid removal) and a filtration section (for the removal of small solid and liquid aerosols).  Typically, the vessels have generous surge tanks for storage of removed liquids.  All units are designed to ASME Section VIII.
