MEET OUR TEAM

R. Allen Hodge is a principle partner of Barcon LLC and the owner of Steelcon LLC, Hodge Construction LLC, SH Design LLC, Amron LLC and FH Equip LLC. Allen’s career spans over two decades of experience in structural steel design, building construction, overhead crane systems, vessel design (pressurized and non-pressurized), midstream piping systems and slug catchers / harp systems. In addition to maintaining his Professional Engineer license in numerous states (PA, WV, OH, NY, OK, TX, CO, UT), Allen is also an AWS Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) and Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).   He has successfully developed in-house quality assurance systems for his businesses to qualify them under ISO9001:2015, AWS, AISC, ASME and the National Board.  Allen also operates an inspection services company (Amron LLC) focused on material testing and non-destructive examination (NDE) for the natural gas industry.  Allen is proficient in the use of structural finite element analysis software, pressure vessel design software, weldment design and AutoCAD.  While attending Youngstown State University, he received his Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Engineering Technology (emphasis on Structural Design).  Afterwards, he completed his Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) degree, also from Youngstown State University.  Allen has submitted utility patents for his work in liquid control systems for midstream natural gas applications.

Amber Wrataric is a degreed mechanical engineer who also serves as the QC Manager and Scheduler for Steelcon LLC, a partner-company of Barcon LLC.  Additionally, Amber provides managerial direction for Amron LLC, another partner-company of Barcon.  In her roles with these companies, Amber assists Barcon in the areas of quality control, product documentation, non-destructive examination (NDE) services, pressure vessel design and mechanical engineering.  Amber has experience in developing quality systems (according to ISO 9001:2015), operating procedures, emergency procedures, piping code interpretations and ASME “U” and “R” stamp procedures.  She has been instrumental in developing various Weld Performance Qualifications (WPQ), Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) for Steelcon LLC, and is well-versed in ASME Section VII, B31.3 and B31.8.  Educationally, Amber earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (minor in Mathematics) from Youngstown State University and has her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the same university.  She is certified as an Professional Engineer Intern in the State of Ohio.
